Durian: "I'm not Dangerous "





DURIAN, which is often called as the king of fruits has sweet sticky pungent flesh. This thorn-skinned tropical fruit is very popular because many people extremely love it or hated it. Eating durian tends to be associated with hot flashes. This is because it increases the body's metabolism during digestion of this rich calories fruit. The best thing to do is not to  eat too many durians.
This fruit is rich in phytonutrients, antioxidants, protein, vitamins and minerals that are good for the body. Here are some  health benefits for those who eat Durian.
1. Improve skin health
Although it is not at all sour, durian store rich levels of vitamin C. Each cup of durian contains 80% daily value (DV) of vitamin C that your body needs. This vitamin is important in the formation of collagen; namely protein in the skin, bones, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also helps develop resistance to viruses and free radicals.

2. Improve the digestive system
Durian is rich in thiamin- substance / vitamin B (61%) that stimulates appetite, and produce hydrochloric acid in the stomach so that the digestive system will be healthy.

3. Regulate blood sugar levels
It’s content of Manganese (39%) in the durian can help blood sugar regulation and prevent anemia. The fruit is also a good source of folate, which is required by the body to produce red blood cells (RBC).


4. Helps to reduce depression
Vitamin B6 is an essential nutrient in the production of serotonin, a chemical that affects mood neorotransmitter. Deficiency of this vitamin in the body can lead to depression. So Durian is recommended because it contains Vitamin B6 up to 38% per cup. In addition, high levels of the amino acid tryptophan in the durian can also reduce anxiety and insomnia. It also means that this fruit is recommended for the woman who is suffering PMS (premenstrual syndrome).

5. Avoiding constipation
Durian is rich in fiber (37%) and complex carbohydrates that absorbs water and expands in the digestive tract; making it effectively speed up the process of secretion.

6. Relieve headaches
Chewing durian also helps relieve headaches. Riboflavin or vitamin B (29%) in the durian helps treating migraines.

7. Relieves stomach pain: 
Durian has a natural antacid effect in the body, if you are experiencing abdominal pain, try eating durian to ease it.

8. Avoiding nausea (Morning Sickness)
Eating durian among staple foods help to keep blood sugar levels and avoid morning sickness.

9. Reduce mosquito bites
Before you use the insect bite cream, try rubbing the skin once bitten by a mosquito with the inside skin of durian. Many people find this as an incredible way and managed to reduce the bumps and itching caused by mosquito bites.

10. Controlling diet for overweight people 
Study at the Institute of Psychology in Austria shows that the pressure of work encouraging people eating and snacking. The results of the study concluded that, to avoid snacking due to stress, we need to eat foods that are high carbohydrate every 2 hours to maintain stability. Durian is a fruit  with carbohydrate yield 20% to 39%.

11. Temperature controlle
It is contrary to our beliefs. Apparently a lot of peoples in other cultures regard the durian as the fruit of 'cooling' to lower the temperature for pregnant women. For example, in Holland, pregnant women were told to eat durian to ensure that their baby will be born with the temperature of the 'cool'.

12. Help to stop smoking
Durian can also help people trying to quit smoking, because it contains vitamin B6, B12, potassium and magnesium, which help the body resist the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Besides durian also has a number of other benefits. Among other things, the content of potassium (30%) is good for the bones, Copper (25%) that are useful in the absorption of hormones, Folate (22%) were either in maintaining pregnancy and Magnesium (18%) beneficial to relax the nerves and muscles.
And what about the rumors about the danger of eating Durian and how can it truly give us health benefits? Negative cases that occurred after eating the durian is due to over eating durian in excessive portions. If the energy is not channeled, it will cause disruption of the balance of the body that result colapse. So it is suggested that eating durian is not more than 100-200 grams each meal. It is also to be considered that while eating durian is not mixed with alcohol and avoiding eating durian at bedtime. 
NOw, let's apologize to Durian because we have labelled it as The Dangerous Fruit and blame it as the cause of so many diseases which is actually caused by our own mistakes. (Adapted from various sources)
